An Established Destination. Punta del Este is an international-class beach resort in the process of becoming a city. What began as a summer destination now has a stable population, year-round services, and a well-established urban center on the peninsula. This process extends along the coast. High-end real estate investment has expanded along the coastline in both directions, from Solanas to José Ignacio, transforming sixty kilometers of coastline into a single, continuous market: waterfront towers in the center, homes nestled among the sand dunes to the east, and mountains and forests to the west.
